Jacob Henry Schiff (born January 18, 1847, died September 25, 1920) is already one of the ancestors of today's great financial dynasties. He comes from Frankfurt, and the Schiff family is related to the Oppenheimers, the court Jewish family with which Prince Eugene of Savoy already clashed in Vienna. That family also produced that American general Oppenheimer who dictated the denazification law.
Jacob Henry Schiff was the son of Moses Schiff and his wife Clara. He went to the United States for the first time in 1865.
He initially became a broker and then joined the firm of Budge, Schiff & Company. He was naturalized in the United States in 1870.
While on a trip to Germany, he was called back to the United States by Abraham Kuhn (senior partner of Kuhn, Loeb & Company) and induced to join his firm.
He became head of Kuhn, Loeb & Company in 1885 and threw himself particularly into the railroad business.
He participated in the great financial battles for control of the railroads alongside Edward H. Harriman against James J. Hill and John Pierpont Morgan. He won those battles and conquered the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad as well as the American Smelting & Refining Company.
That company today, together with the great copper firm Guggenheim, is strongly interested in the metals of Chile and leased the copper mines of Corocoro from Bolivia. This happened at the same time that the tin concerns of Patiño, Aramayo, and Moritz Hochschild were nationalized by Bolivia.
Jacob Henry Schiff “then rose into insurance.” It was he who procured for Japan the loan of 200 million dollars, with which it defeated imperial Russia in 1904. That defeat triggered the first bloody revolution of 1905 in Russia.
In terms of financial policy, Jacob H. Schiff was a strong defender of the gold standard.
He financially supported the election of Woodrow Wilson as president and was considered his confidant. The dependence of the Democratic Party under Wilson and Franklin D. Roosevelt on the funds of the Schiff family was always an open secret.
He married Therese Loeb in 1875. He had a son and a daughter.
His son Mortimer Leo Schiff (born June 5, 1877, died June 4, 1931) did not reach his level of importance.
Jacob Henry Schiff has been the financier of the communist revolution ever since he rose to financial influence.
An official report of the intelligence service of the French government in Washington (7-618-6. Np.:912-S.R. 2 II), submitted by the Deuxième Bureau of the General Staff, states literally:
“Bolshevism and Judaism.
In February 1916, it was learned for the first time that a revolution was being prepared in Russia. It was discovered that the following personalities and houses were involved in this work of destruction:
Jacob Schiff, Jew;
Kuhn, Loeb & Company Jewish banking house, under the direction of Jacob Schiff, Jew;
Felix Warburg, Jew;
Otto Kahn, Jew;
Mortimer Schiff, Jew;
Jerome H. Hanauer, Jew;
Guggenheim, Jew;
Max Breitung.
In the spring of 1917, Jacob Schiff began transferring sums of money to Trotsky so that he could ignite the revolution in Russia. The New York newspaper 'Forward,' a Jewish-Bolshevist daily, also contributed sums of money for this purpose.
From Stockholm, the Jew Max Warburg likewise financed Trotsky and his comrades. They were further supported with money by the Rhenish-Westphalian Syndicate, a Jewish concern. They were also supported by another Jew, Olaf Aschberg of Nya Banken in Stockholm, and by the Jew Zhivotovsky, whose daughter Trotsky married. In this way, connections were established between the Jewish multimillionaires and the Jewish proletariat.
In October 1917, the socialist revolution broke out in Russia, through which the Soviet organization came to power over the Russian people. At the same time, the Jew Paul Warburg revealed such close relations to Bolshevist personalities that he was no longer elected to the Federal Reserve Board.
Among the closer friends of Jacob Schiff is a rabbi Judah Leon Magnes, confidant and agent of Schiff, completely devoted to him. Magnes is a vigorous champion of international Judaism. A Jew named Jacob Millikow once declared that Magnes was a prophet.”
Judah Leon Magnes, who died as president of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem on Mount Scopus, was born in California. He was educated in Germany, where he also earned his doctorate. He was a leading Zionist. He led the congregation B'nai Jeshurun in New York for a long time and made it the center of Jewish activity.
When he led the congregation, some of the most influential Jews in the United States joined it. These included:

The connection between Jacob H. Schiff and Dr. Judah Leon Magnes was therefore not the position of an agent, which Magnes never was. Instead, it was the alliance of perhaps the greatest financier and the most significant rabbi of his time in a stellar hour of Jewish power history. This was much more than this French report itself knows.
The report continues:
“In the year 1917, the prophet founded the first purely Bolshevist association in the country under the name People's Council. On October 24, 1918, the Jew L. Magnes declared that he was a communist and in full agreement with the Bolshevist doctrine and the Bolshevist ideals. This declaration was made by Magnes in a meeting of the Jewish League of America...
On the other hand, Judah L. Magnes also stands, financed by Jacob Schiff, in close relations to the Zionist world organization Poale Zion, of which he was the leader. Its goal is to establish the international supremacy of the Jewish workers' party.”
In this regard, one may remark that in the book Now and Forever, which the Jewish writer Israel Zangwill wrote together with Dr. Judah L. Magnes, it says about the Bolshevist revolution:
“In the meantime, we Jews in Russia have won freedom and taken magnificent revenge. Oh, it was worth enduring pogroms! The government that persecuted us writhes hopelessly in the dust of oblivion. Where we were once the humiliated and persecuted, we are today the proud and merciless persecutors.”
Returning to the report:
“Judah L. Magnes was married to the sister of President Wilson's legal advisor, Mr. Louis Marshall.”
The Schiff family has remained true to this conviction.
The daughter of Mortimer Leo Schiff, the undoubtedly pretty Dorothy Schiff, is the owner of the New York Post, the "leading New York hate-sheet of the Marxists," as the brave paper Common Sense (September 15, 1952) characterizes it.
The paper recently attracted attention through its savage attacks on the Republican candidate Senator Richard Nixon.
Dorothy Schiff's chief editor of The New York Post’s is the Jew James Wechsler.
About this Wechsler, Walter Winchell wrote:
“After the revelations here on Monday morning that the chief editor of the New York Post [J. Wechsler] was a leader of the Young Communist League, several representatives of the veterans' organization tried to speak to him.”
