Voices of Germany [Der Weg 1947-09 to 1948-01]

Letters from Germany received by "Der Weg" in Argentina
2

Hallo und willkommen! Ich heiße "Dan Rouse", and you are listening to an English language reading from "Der Weg", a German-language magazine founded in Buenos Aires, Argentina in the years immediately following the destruction of the Third Reich.

The following represents letters received by the magazine between September 1947 and January 1948. They are read in the order that the magazine received them, and more information as well as the text of each letter, is available below:

In addition to the twelve letters, two poems have been made into songs.

I've felt a deep joy while bringing new life to these words, written down and reproduced by a people suffering a great trauma. The resilient soul that pulses in each line is awe inspiring, and I hope your experience of these letters is the same.
