I'm Dan Rouse, and you are listening to a reading from "Der Weg", a German-language magazine founded in Buenos Aires, Argentina in the years immediately following the destruction of the Third Reich.
The following represents the poetry and short readings that the editor, Eberhard Fritsch, placed at the front of each edition from 1947 and 1948.
In total, there are eight readings; I have found scans of three editions from 1947, and five from 1948.
The work will be presented as follows: The month and year the reading was published in "Der Weg", the author and work, the reading in German, and a translation of the reading in English.
I hope that these words, first intended as a balm and inspiration for a defeated people, can guide you too, today.
